Season 2026-2027: Come Together

Asheville Choral Society Invites Audiences to “Come Together” for the 2026–2027 Season

National recognition, a major regional collaboration, and four inspiring concert experiences

The Asheville Choral Society invites Western North Carolina to Come Together for a 2026–2027 season that celebrates the power of music to unite, inspire, and transform.

The season features beloved masterworks, meaningful collaborations, joyful community experiences, and an exciting milestone for Tempus, the Asheville Choral Society's select vocal ensemble.

A Season of Remarkable Milestones

The season opens with national recognition as Tempus performs at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Conference in Asheville this October.

The invitation is a significant honor, placing Tempus among a select group of ensembles chosen to perform for one of the nation's most respected gatherings of choral conductors, educators, and composers. The honor reflects both the artistic excellence of the ensemble and the strength of Asheville's vibrant choral community.

Tempus will also present two concerts as part of the ACS season.

Tempus: From Silence…
October 2 & 3, 2026

The fall performance offers an intimate showcase of the select ensemble's artistry and distinctive sound.

Tempus: Into Sound…
April 9 & 10, 2027

Tempus returns in the spring, continuing the season's exploration of the ways voices, music, and people connect.

Coming Together Across Communities

The full Asheville Choral Society launches its concert season with an ambitious regional collaboration with the Greenville Youth Orchestra.

On November 7, the chorus and orchestra will present John Rutter's Mass of the Children in a partnership that will bring performances to both Asheville and Greenville, South Carolina.

The collaboration offers audiences the opportunity to experience one of choral repertoire's most moving contemporary works while showcasing the remarkable artistry that emerges when organizations come together across communities.

A Season of Music That Connects Us

The season continues in December with Yuletide Candlelight, kicking off the holiday season with a concert that is becoming a cherished holiday tradition for Western North Carolina families. Every Yuletide concert is unique, beginning the season with warmth, reflection, and music from all traditions.

In March, To Hope, A Celebration offers an uplifting program centered on resilience, possibility, and the enduring human capacity for hope through powerful choral repertoire.

The season concludes in May with What's Up, Doc? Music in the Movies, an entertaining celebration of unforgettable film music and the iconic music that has touched generations of moviegoers.

“Every concert this season is an invitation,” said Dr. Melodie Galloway, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Asheville Choral Society. “Whether we're collaborating with outstanding young musicians, sharing the stage with our own chamber ensemble on a national platform, celebrating the traditions of the holidays, or simply experiencing the joy of music together, this season reminds us that some of life's most meaningful moments happen when people gather. That's what choral singing has always been about—coming together and connecting through the power of the human voice.”
